Nye Veier AS has selected the Belgian contractor BESIX and Italian contractor Rizzani in a joint venture to the concretization phase for the regulation, design and construction of the new E6 Moelv-Roterud in the county Innlandet, Norway. Multiconsult is set to deliver design and engineering services to the new E6 road and the bridge crossing lake Mjøsa. AF Gruppen is sub-contractors and Selberg Architects is the bridge architect.

10. June 2020

The Moelv – Roterud section is about eleven kilometres and consists of a new four-lane bridge crossing lake Mjøsa and over nine kilometres of road.

The proposed bridge concept consists of a superstructure where a significant part of the construction made out of wood and will be a considerably lighter construction than ordinary concrete structure. This is an innovative design and concept, combining wood and concrete, never been built before. This is resulting in a significantly lower greenhouse gas release compared to an ordinary concrete structure. The contract has a budget NOK 2.55 billion.

The contract for the interaction phase is expected to be signed by the end of August 2020, and the contract for the design and build phase is expected to be signed at the end of 2021.
